Privacy Policy



Memos Today (https://www.memos.today) establishes and discloses the following privacy policy to protect the personal information of data subjects and to handle related grievances swiftly and smoothly in accordance with Article 30 of the "Personal Information Protection Act".

This privacy policy will be effective from June 28, 2024.

Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)

Memos Today (https://www.memos.today) processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed will not be used for any purpose other than the following, and if the purpose of use changes, we will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the "Personal Information Protection Act".
1. Website membership registration and management: We process personal information for the purpose of confirming the intention to sign up, maintaining and managing member qualifications, and preventing misuse of services.
2. Provision of goods or services: We process personal information for the purpose of providing services and customized services.
3. Use in marketing and advertising: We process personal information for purposes such as developing new services (products) and providing customized services, providing opportunities for events and advertising information and participation, confirming the validity of services, analyzing access frequency, or statistics on members' service usage.

Article 2 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)

① Memos Today processes and retains personal information within the personal information retention and usage period agreed upon when collecting personal information from the data subject or as required by laws and regulations.
② The processing and retention period for each type of personal information is as follows:
1. Website membership registration and management
Personal information related to website membership registration and management is retained and used for the above purposes from the date of consent to collection and use until <immediate deletion>.
1) Records on the collection/processing and use of credit information: 3 years
2) Records on consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years
3) Records on payment and supply of goods: 5 years
4) Records on contracts or subscription withdrawals: 5 years
5) Records on displays/advertisements: 6 months
Exceptions: When reasons arise to postpone deletion due to relevant laws, requests from government agencies, or requests from the data subject of the personal information

Article 3 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them)

① The data subject may exercise the following rights related to personal information protection against Memos Today at any time.
② The exercise of rights under paragraph 1 can be made in writing, by email, fax, etc. to Memos Today in accordance with Article 41, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the "Personal Information Protection Act", and Memos Today will take action without delay.
③ The exercise of rights under paragraph 1 may be conducted through the data subject's legal representative or an agent who has been delegated. In this case, you must submit a power of attorney according to the form specified in Attachment 11 of the "Notice on Personal Information Processing Methods (No. 2020-7)".
④ The right to view personal information and request suspension of processing may be restricted in accordance with Article 35, Paragraph 4 and Article 37, Paragraph 2 of the "Personal Information Protection Act".
⑤ Requests for correction and deletion of personal information cannot be made if the personal information is specified as a collection target in other laws.
⑥ Memos Today verifies whether the person requesting viewing, correction, deletion, or processing suspension of personal information is the person themselves or a legitimate agent.

Article 4 (Items of Personal Information Processed)

① Memos Today processes the following personal information items:
1. Website membership registration and management Required items: Email, user nickname, service usage record, access log

Article 5 (Destruction of Personal Information)

① Memos Today destroys the relevant personal information without delay when the personal information becomes unnecessary, such as the expiration of the personal information retention period or the achievement of the processing purpose.
② If personal information must be kept in accordance with other laws despite the expiration of the personal information retention period agreed to by the data subject or the achievement of the processing purpose, we move the personal information to a separate database (DB) or change the storage location.
③ The procedure and method of destroying personal information are as follows:
1. Destruction procedure: Memos Today selects personal information for which destruction reasons have occurred and destroys the personal information with the approval of Memos Today's personal information protection officer.
2. Destruction method: Information in electronic file format is destroyed using technical methods that cannot reproduce the record. Personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding with a shredder or through incineration.

Article 6 (Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information)

Memos Today takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information:
1. Minimization and training of personal information handling staff: We implement measures to manage personal information by designating and limiting employees who handle personal information to minimize the number.
2. Establishment and implementation of internal management plan: We establish and implement an internal management plan for the safe processing of personal information.
3. Technical measures against hacking, etc.
Memos Today installs security programs, performs regular updates and inspections, installs systems in areas with controlled external access, and technically/physically monitors and blocks to prevent personal information leakage and damage due to hacking or computer viruses.
4. Encryption of personal information
Users' personal information is encrypted, stored, and managed so that only the user knows, and important data uses separate security functions such as encrypting files and transmission data or using file locking functions.
5. Storage and prevention of falsification of access records
We keep and manage access records to the personal information processing system for at least 1 year. However, if personal information is added for more than 50,000 data subjects or if unique identification information or sensitive information is processed, we keep and manage it for at least 2 years. We also use security functions to prevent access records from being forged, stolen, or lost.

Article 7 (Installation, Operation, and Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices)

① Memos Today uses 'cookies' that store and retrieve usage information to provide individual customized services to users.
② A cookie is a small amount of information sent to the user's computer browser by the server (http) used to operate the website and is sometimes stored on the hard disk of the user's PC.
a. Purpose of using cookies: Used to provide optimized information to users by understanding visit and usage patterns for each service and website visited by users, popular search terms, secure access status, etc.
b. Installation, operation, and rejection of cookies: You can refuse to store cookies through the option settings in the Tools > Internet Options > Privacy menu at the top of your web browser.
c. If you refuse to store cookies, you may have difficulty using customized services.

① Memos Today has designated a personal information protection officer as follows to be responsible for handling tasks related to personal information processing and handling complaints and damage relief from data subjects related to personal information processing.

② Data subjects can inquire about all personal information protection-related matters, complaints handling, and damage relief that occurred while using Memos Today's service (or business) to the personal information protection officer and responsible department. Memos Today will respond to and process inquiries from data subjects without delay.

Data subjects can request access to personal information according to Article 35 of the "Personal Information Protection Act" to the department below. Memos Today will strive to promptly process personal information access requests from data subjects.

A person whose rights or interests have been infringed due to disposition or inaction taken by the head of a public institution in response to a request under the provisions of Article 35 (Access to Personal Information), Article 36 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information), and Article 37 (Suspension of Personal Information Processing, etc.) of the "Personal Information Protection Act" may file an administrative appeal in accordance with the Administrative Appeals Act.
